With the developers having less tendency to develop apps for windows platform, Microsoft itself is not sure whether windows 8 platform will be a huge hit as Windows 7 was(is) in its adoption to industry. Currently there are more than 224,000 apps available for iOS platform and still more for Android, the main reason for users adopting the Android and iOS platforms, and as developers want their apps to be with more users, even developers are avoiding windows 8 platform.
Microsofts strategy to bring Windows 8 OS to tablet doesn't seem to be good enough, as choice has always been a big strong point for Microsoft offering to its users, but having lots of choice also makes users confused for which ones to buy. As Microsoft now is not having a single version of windows tablet, there are two different versions of Microsoft Surface tablet ones that will be having "Arm" processor and others that will be running on "intel core processors" for high performance.
Also Users with WinRT installed on windows tablets will not be able to run most of the desktop apps as Microsoft promises to run on Windows 8 Professional edition, which produces another hurdle for users for buying windows 8 tablets. So overall in software and in apps iOS and Android will always be winners for me, whereas in terms of performance, reliability and consumption of hardware in efficient way, Windows will be my best and the first preference ...
